In 2013, over 25,000 TEDx Talks were given. Check out the 25 most popular of all time.
Some familiar faces can be found on this list, such as David Blaine. The almost immortal magician speaks about his experiences completing his many performances throughout the years. In his talk, he goes in depth on how he successfully held his breath for 17 minutes.
While looking for articles to link in this blog I realized something about TED. Once you start a TED Talk, you can't stop. Every individual always has such a unique story, that you become instantly drawn in. David Blaine was the perfect example of this modern phenomena. I initially started watching his talk just to try to cherry pick some cool, funny, interesting quotes to place in this blog, but soon found myself watching the entire video, fully engaged in what he was saying. I will probably find myself later this week delving deeper into his performances, and also watching some other TED talks featuring magicians and illusionists, basically obsessing over the topic.
And the best part about it, is that all of this information is from real people telling their own stories. TED isn't fiction, it's real life evidence of interesting, outlandish, and outstanding stories. I suggest looking through this list and watching some of the talks, because I'm sure there is at least one that may interest you. That little extra bit of knowledge may become useful one day. You never know.
